When you work remotely all the time it means you are working by yourself most of the time. It’s really exciting to meet in person with coworkers and share a table with coffee and laughs. More often than not when I get together with my coworkers we aren’t even working on the same projects or tasks – it’s just a couple of people doing similar work and having a good time together. I miss “shooting the breeze” with my colleagues.
This day you can see that we ended up jumping to three separate places as a team: federal café madrid, el imparcial, and my favorite “close-to-home” venue Boconó.
As you can see we were working very hard.
Madrid had a surprising offering for places with WiFi, places that were fine with people bringing in laptops, hip tapas bars, boutiques, artsy theaters, parks, and more. It made for one of the best cities so far for a meetup at work.
Below is just one of the vegan restaurants we visited during the time there. The interior is small but typical of many of the walk-in food joints.
