Saw the “All Star Coffee” while waiting for my bus from Bilbao to Madrid. I took the ALSA Premium bus – Spain had a number of competing coach lines offering more elaborate service. The premium ticket was only an extra 15€ and included a meal, a snack, a premium cushy seat, and all the extras. I had wifi and power access during the entire four or five hour trip but the real deal was the view – I had no idea how gorgeous and mountainous northern Spain is. In my prior trip across Spain from Alicante to Madrid I remember only slowly-rolling fields of grain.
Although it would continue somewhat in Madrid, the wine in Bilbao was typically around 2€ per cup and the table wine was delicious. Wine cheaper than water? Grab some pintxos and drink.
